What are superfatting oils and are they different than the oil you start with?
Here is the answer to your next soap making question:
Some oils are better to use for superfatting, but in general, they are the same oils that are used for making the soap.
There seem to be two schools of thought regarding superfatting, firstly some who simply include around 5% more fats than required by the quantity of lye and others who add the superfatting oils at trace, so that not all of the fat is fully saponified (turned to soap). I tend to agree with the latter group.
